How to Deal with Panic Attacks
Like everyone else, you have encountered worries in your life. Whether it’s about money, work, disease, or family, we all become stressed at some point. This is a perfectly normal reaction. But you need to find a way to keep it in check.

1. Be honest with yourself.
Stay aware of your feelings. You will need to accept that you are not well at the moment.
What is going through your mind? What sensations can you feel? Do you feel like you are spinning out of control? Are you dizzy? Is your breathing labored? How about your chest? Is it tight? These are the sings of the buildup to a full-blown panic attack.
The good news is that these symptoms are not indicative of a fast-approaching danger. They just mean that your body is reacting to a situation. Sure, the whole feeling is not exactly something you want, but knowing what is going on in your body gives you the patience to let these sensations wash over you.
Admitting how you feel is the best way to allow yourself to calm down.
2. Learn how to relax.
When panic attack strikes, try not to think about anything other than your breathing. Try also to relax the parts of your body that feel tense and tight.
If you are not moving and you feel safe in your surroundings, it is okay to let your eyes close a little while. Inhale and exhale in a slow, measured rhythm.
Ignore everything around you completely and focus on making sure your diaphragm empties. Fill your lungs with air in regular bursts.
If panic strikes when you are driving, find a safe place to park your vehicle. Sit inside. Crack the windows open. And allow your body to come to terms with the tension inside you. Focus on releasing the stress within. Keep at it until you can feel your panic receding. After a few minutes, you will start feeling perfectly normal. That is an indication that your episode is over.
3. Work on reducing stress.
Sure, no one is entirely stress-free. But you will need to reduce your stress levels. It all starts with you identifying stressors in your life and then working to minimize them. The less stressed you are, the less frequent your panic attacks are going to be.
